How to: Easter eggs

Hello everyone! 

Zombie slayers, as the clock moves ever towards the release date of Black ops 3, I think it would be a good time to compile a list of tricks and tips on how to properly do easter eggs. 

This guide is meant to help new players with tips from some veterans who have been die hard since the days of W@W. I see many new faces around here and no doubt, in time, they will make valuable allies, if not already, in the fight to finish the easter eggs. 

Here are some of the best tips i've heard including my own:

1. Always have a good team. I know it sounds so trivial, but you would be surprised as to how important this is. Try to pick up randoms and take those who you think are really good and can handle themselves.

2. Know the map. It pains me so much when people who cannot even make it to round 10 or are so lost try to do the EE. Most of all, the leader of an EE run should know what to do because if all else fails...you know the saying: If you want something done right, do it yourself.

3. Don't be greedy. One of the worst things in an EE team is when someone gets too greedy. You start hogging the box, won't open the doors, etc. This can be extremely detrimental to the team. Again, a "no shit sherlock" thing, but you would be surprised at those who are not "sherlock".

4. Patience is a virtue. Easter eggs take time and energy. Be patient. Don't just kill off crawlers. Don't yell at a team mate to move it because he is still getting his gear. This only leads to stress and ill trust.

5. If you can put it off, do so. This is a very early tip for those of you who can survive, but may not be used to running easter eggs. Most steps can be done at any time. Therefore, if you feel that the crawler will die, stop what you are doing, grab your stuff, and get ready for the next round. Most EE steps will be there when you finish. 

6. Don't WASTE your money. Here are a list of wastes: Hitting the box for a "better gun", buying a perk you clearly don't need, going down often. The last one can be a huge hit after a while because your money is being stolen when someone dies off.

7. Wall weapons are useful. As TheSyndicateProject once said, "It is better to take a gun off the wall. You know what you will get and you can get more ammo for it. The box is a gamble. It is basically a 100% chance vs a 1 in (X) chance."

8. Be prepared. If you are someone who has parents who are constantly calling for you, don't run the EE. It hurts other people when you have to leave and can be a serious waste of your IRL time since you did not accomplish your goal.

9. Have everyone on the same page. Make sure everyone understands what step you are on. You don't want someone running off to pull a lever in a secret location where you can get swarmed when the location hasnt even been opened yet, or worse, it doesnt even exist (Yes, this has happened). TEAMWORK.

As an alternative there's always option B: 
1: Play solo if you have no group and can't figure out the map yet. Yes it's slightly lonely. But it's better then missing crucial information about the map because everyone's running around like a chicken with their head cut off. 

2: The workers control the means of production. Get your team to a reasonable stage, and save a crawler. 

3: Wait until players have decent guns and at least juggernog. Then go hog-wild on the box all you want. Because isn't it so cool to have the wonder weapon first? 

4:Don't kill off crawlers, chances are they'll die on their own anyways. 

5: Like I said: Don't kill off crawlers, but know to stop if the zombies start swarming. 

6: Lists of wastes: Double tap, Speed cola, deadshot daquiri, claymores, putting your money in the bank, opening doors you don't know where they will lead to, and worst of all: Pack-a-punching too early. (Hitting the box is totally a cool thing to do if you feel stable enough, chances are the WW is needed for the easteregg.) 

7: Always keep a good 1200 on you for a wall weapon if the going gets tough. Because as we all know; The better, and the HORRIBLE, weapons are in the box. 

8: Parents are unpredictable and unreasonable if your parents are home, either except the fact you will die, or play solo. 

9: Establish who knows their shit early on, too many chefs in the **** please report this topic, post **** is a bad recipe. 

10: Remember the box is a good gamble, but like all gambles: KNOW WHEN IT"S APPROPRIATE.

If you're playing with someone whose parents are calling for them, you shouldn't be in that lobby in the first place.

If you ARE that someone, well...go take another look at the game rating.

Tbh though there are plenty of adults who still live with parents and sometimes they require the assistance of someone younger.

IE, you buy Juggs, Double Tap (I personally love DT), and Quick revive on round 10, and make a silly mistake, and lose all. That's 6000 points lost, when you could have just survived on a more meager and challenging diet for longer.

2. In the same vein, and expounding on the 'wall weapon' support argument-get a good point maker (ak74u, MP40, Thompson, STG-you get the point. Get it? Get the point???) Um...anyway. Survive with that point maker for as long as you comfortably can. A WW on an early round can be a damned nuisance for yourself and your teamates. 

3. Pay attention to character dialogue. Often when you pass close to, shoot, knife, or in any way experience something that pertains to the EE, your character will make comment. 

4. Be familiar with previous EEs. Treyarch loves and respects their previous works, as  do we. You will see some patterns, for instance, four-player synchronous actions (X), (F) or (SQUARE), or killing a certain number of zombies near a certain object or area. 

5. And in addition to, or clarification of the 'patience' points already made in this post, be prepared to experience repeated failures, downs, and losses. If you can't take it, rage quit, or get sick of zombies altogether after a handful or twenty tries, don't commit to an EE team. Easter Eggs are designed for the 4D's -diligent, determined, discerning, and deliberate.
