Now let's discuss the new perk - Widow's Wine

11754302_951088718286186_341451857480124

What do you think it does?  I'm hoping for poison effects on zombies, or maybe something to keep barricades up longer.

Let's discuss this Nero poster....

11731641_951088714952853_14168019088199811722587_951087828286275_327625778133636

The first reaction I had to the first poster is that it could be tied with Faust (remember the movie poster in Kino), a German epic about an alchemist making a deal with the devil.

Could this new character Nero be a thread that leads back to the Roman emperor Nero?  In historical terms, Nero was a particularly cruel emperor of Rome.  So cruel that he Christians saw him as an anti-christ, or perhaps will return one day as the anti-christ.  "Nero Knows All" "He will Predict Your Future".  These sound like the claims of a false prophet (aka anti-christ).

There's a theme in this game about old legends reliving themselves in new ways.  For example think about the Tower of Babel EE, Icarus, or the picture of the ancients in Origins. I believe this Nero character may be related in the same thread.

There's definitely a big focus on Nero. I have a feeling he's going to be the "important" character in the group, ala Richtofen and Arlington. Also, the new perk is definitely interesting. I think it'll cause zombies that touch you (or zombies that you touch) to be poisoned and will lose health over time.

So Widows Wine is our new perk-a-cola huh?

I think it's most likely going to have a poison affect as well, I do like the look of it.

I want it to be remembered that the false prophet and the anti-christ are NOT the same character. The anti-christ doesn't initiate his own worship. The fals prophet decides that the anti-christ is the messiah and begins the worship. Eventually the anti-christ suffers a fatal wound and survives and that's when he pretty much accepts the role.

Just saying.

Anyones, this is excellent. I can see the Nero focus, and I find it to be very interesting. It is definitely a fascinating name choice.

Aspects of a black widow:

-Creepy

-Crawly

-Venomous

-Eats it's own mate after sex.

-Has 8 legs

Ok... So... I think this perk is going to actually allow one to do a few things.

-Zombies after slapping you will get large spider bites on them, these spots are weak points like the Magnatron from Burgertown.

-You now repair barriers twice as fast.

-You also gain the ability to carry an extra build able item.

Now... New question: What is 02, 06, 28... It's not a date, no zombies map is set there.

-MOTD-1939

-Origins- 1918

-The Giant- We know is set after the der reise radio which is set after the moon radio in the year 1949.

-SOE- We know takes place in the 40s.

Could be a date for a future Zombie map, but even though we should not rule that out yet, I find it highly unlikely that we will go from 1918 to the 40s, and then BACK to 1928.

the 02 06 28 is a clock or a countdown timer.  It is likely nothing story related, but instead a pic of the countdown timer that people who did the escape room challenge were racing against

I really like the idea of the spider bites! Like make them have a super high damage multiplier. That could be super interesting. But.. them having to slap you first.. hmm. Its a predicament.

Playing on the Anti-Christ theme, it's a fatal headwound I believe, which two of our characters have suffered (possibly) before becoming god-like.

Richtofen shot Richtofen in the head, and Maxis was just shot. Where I'm not sure.

This Nero character, could very well be a precursor to either of their rises, or could be related to the demonic or satanic entity in MotD.

Nero was a pretty fucked up dude, and was probably responsible for the writing of the book of revelation because he made Christians feel legitimately like the world was ending at that time.

Well it has to be applied to a zombie in some way, if it was shooting a zombie that'd be OP. If it was knifing the zombies it would barely have any use. Now, imagine you're cornered, you pull out a machine gun and panic fire, and as the zombies slap you they become more likely to die, play your cards right and you can get out with a red-screen.

From the look of it now, widow's wine has at least one effect that changes your grenades. If I had to guess, WW slows the zombies that get caught in your grenades now. Does it apply to all grenades or just certain types though? Are there any other types?

It probably isn't something that effects your grenades, it sounds like it replaces them with ensnaring ones. But I find it hard to believe that it only does that.

We've had perks affect nearly every other aspect of gameplay. Health, sprint, fire rate, reloading and weapon swap speed, reviving, dolphin diving, and grenades have been strangely untouched for 3 games. Makes sense that it's what they would augment next.

No I mean, it obviously does that. But it has to do something a bit more to be one of the four perks people will want to buy.

Maybe it will enable wall running? I'd be ok with that. I doesn't give players the ability to boost so It can still be a hastle but...The ability to cross wide gaps will likely come in handy.
