Official Call of Duty: Zombies Comic Book

Also announced is an Official Call of Duty: Zombies Comic Book

Quote

On the Black Ops III side of things, Dark Horse Comics, Activision and Treyarch have teamed up to deliver a Zombies-themed comic book series: Call of Duty: Zombies #1 (of 6), which is set to hit comic stands October 19, 2016. Written by Justin Jordan (Green Lantern: New Guardians), and illustrated by Jonathan Wayshak (Devolution), Call of Duty: Zombies features a story by Zombies Director, Jason Blundell and the studio’s Lead Writer, Craig Houston. Additionally, the cover art is handled by renowned artist Simon Bisley.

Since Treyarch first introduced Zombies to the Call of Duty franchise as an Easter Egg in Call of Duty: World at War, it has grown into its own pop-culture phenomenon. Now, Treyarch’s Blundell and Houston help take fans even deeper down the rabbit hole…

On his quest to secure an ancient artifact known as The Kronorium, Doctor Edward Richtofen enlists the help of The Tranzit Crew, a rag tag group of survivors last seen in the Black Ops II Zombies installment Buried. On a deeply unstable and fractured future Earth, Stuhlinger, Misty, Russman, and Marlton battle for survival against the undead horde, as they slowly uncover the truth behind Richtofen’s mysterious reappearance. The Call of Duty: Zombies miniseries follows these characters’ perilous journey of discovery, filling in crucial pieces of the larger Zombies Story.

To help celebrate the occasion, Jason Blundell, Director of Zombies at Treyarch, will join Dark Horse’s Comics & Video Games panel on July 21st, 5pm PT in Room 23ABC, where he’ll shed light onto some of the secrets hidden within the Call of Duty: Zombies saga, and what it was like to help bring Zombies to the comic book medium. In addition, Blundell will be joined by Treyarch’s Lead Writer Craig Houston earlier that same day for a special guest signing at the Dark Horse Comics Booth (#2615) at 12pm PT.

Yesterday, we announced that we’re back this year with Black Ops 3. It seems only fitting that today, we reached a Facebook milestone: 1M fans. Response has been incredible and it made for the perfect time to say, thank you!

We’re humbled to have such an amazing community. From our WWII heritage to globe-trotting black operations; from a “Zombies” Easter Egg unlock and GKnova6 to “things that we may or may not be doing now,” we’ve grown – and more importantly, played – together for a while now. You are, without question, the best community we could ever ask for and we’re humbled that you’ve chosen to be a part of it. We have so much planned for this year and we can’t wait to share it all.

With great thanks,
Treyarch

#E32015

It's time to reconnect.

It’s been three years since we were last at E3 and we haven’t spoken since reveal. We thought that it felt like the right time to re-connect.

Before we cover all-things E3, we’d like to thank you for helping to make the reveal of Black Ops 3 an amazing experience! As you’re aware, we shared a “social experience” – we played a little – and shared a number of firsts along the way. For those of you who have been with the franchise for a while, they’re particularly notable firsts and they wouldn’t have happened without you.

For the first time, Call of Duty teased a new game (Black Ops 3) using a previously-released game (Black Ops 2) – something that would have been impossible had it not been for your devotion. You saw our new Snapchat logo and played along – something that allowed us to share information in a way that we never had before. From there, we went down the “Dr. Salim rabbit hole” together to discover a special piece of fiction that bridged the worlds of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 – yet again, something that had never been done before.

Whether it’s within the game itself, or the experience outside of it involving our special brand of mindf*ckery, we’ve always appreciated the fact that you like to play. You are truly the best fans any studio could ever hope to serve.

And now that our engines are warmed up, it’s time for E3!

We’ve been pouring our hearts into doing something special with Black Ops 3 and delivering the most ambitious game ever made at Treyarch. Frankly, we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it…which is part of the reason why we’re so excited about E3.

There’s going to be plenty of news coming this week – we’ll let the game sites keep you up to speed on that front. The one thing that we couldn’t be more excited about is yet another franchise first: making multiplayer available on the show floor. We’re excited to be showing off our new movement system, sharing more about our Specialists and talking a bit more about our new Gunsmith, Paintshop, etc.

It’s going to be a great show and we hope that you can join us, or even keep up with us online. We’ll be sharing information from our social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). And who knows, maybe we’ll start getting some mileage out of that shiny, new Periscope account of ours?

Regardless, we can’t wait to show you more. Thank you for joining us for the ride and we hope to see you soon.

Your biggest fans,

Treyarch

"Shadows of Evil" Zombies Reveal Trailer

ZOMBIES "SHADOWS OF EVIL" OVERVIEW

BLACK OPS 3 ZOMBIES IS THE MOST IMMERSIVE AND AMBITIOUS CALL OF DUTY ZOMBIES TO DATE. SHADOWS OF EVIL WILL BRING DARKNESS AND CHAOS LIKE NEVER BEFORE WHILE DELIVERING A TOTALLY UNIQUE AND HIGHLY CREATIVE GAMEPLAY SETTING, COMPLETE WITH A MIND-BLOWING EXPERIENCE WITH A CAPTIVATING STORYLINE, AS WELL AS ITS OWN XP PROGRESSION SYSTEM.

THE WORLD

SET IN A FICTIONAL 1940S CITY, SHADOWS OF EVIL IS A FILM-NOIR-INSPIRED HORROR STORY CENTERED AROUND FOUR PARTICULARLY TROUBLED INDIVIDUALS – THE FEMME FATALE, THE MAGICIAN, THE COP AND THE BOXER – AND SPANS AN ENTIRE METROPOLIS SWATHED IN EVIL… WELCOME TO MORG CITY.

EACH OF THE FOUR CHARACTERS AWAKEN TO A NIGHTMARISH WORLD OVERRUN BY THE UNDEAD. EACH CHARACTER FIGHTS TO OVERCOME CONFUSION AND AMNESIA – IN THE HOPE THAT THEY MAY PIECE TOGETHER THE EVENTS THAT BROUGHT THEM TO THIS TWISTED WORLD.

MORG CITY

MORG CITY IS THE IDEAL BACKDROP FOR A NOIR HORROR STORY, FEATURING A THEATER DISTRICT, JAZZ CLUBS AND A SUSPENSION RAILWAY – ELEMENTS THAT ADD NEW DEPTH AND COMPLEXITY AS YOU FEND OFF THE UNDEAD.

PROGRESSION

PERSONALIZE YOUR ZOMBIES EXPERIENCE WITH A FULL XP-BASED PROGRESSION SYSTEM THAT
ADDS DEPTH AND RE-PLAYABILITY THAT FANS HAVE COME TO EXPECT.

THE CHARACTERS
Shadows of Evil introduces players to the Femme Fatal, the Magician, the Cop and the Boxer – and these are not nice people. Every one of them is a lying, conniving, manipulative and selfish individual with a long and sordid history of past misdeeds

Femme Fatal played by Heather Graham

She belongs in motion pictures, but instead works as a burlesque dancer at the city’s most ”upscale” nightclub – where she inevitably attracts the attention of many powerful men, manipulating their weaknesses and desires for her own ends.

The Magician played by Jeff Goldblum

Born into enormous wealth, the magician grew up surrounded by lackeys and sycophants… and a lifetime of constant praise and attention has only fueled his deeply misplaced arrogance.

The Cop played by Neal McDonough

After years of taking mob bribes and framing innocent men, the cop is a likely suspect in a department wide corruption investigation… The timing of which couldn’t be worse.

The Boxer played by Ron Perlman

Besides removing the padding from his gloves, the boxer wore a pair of brass knuckles hidden beneath his hand wraps - he wasn’t just looking to win, he was looking to cause damage.

ZOMBIES AT COMIC-CON

Last week, Call of Duty went to San Diego Comic-Con for the first time to reveal Black Ops 3 Zombies.

We’ve had the pleasure of nurturing Zombies and watching it grow from an Easter Egg made for the fans, to a mode, to its own game and – somewhere along the way – its own lifestyle. Zombies fans are a special die-hard breed of Call of Duty fan and we had the privilege of meeting a few thousand of you at San Diego Comic-Con.

IMG_1176_zpswwbbhfvb.jpg

It.

Was.

AWESOME!

What some of you might not know, is that what we did at Thursday’s panel was more than a year in the making.

You see, as a result of our three-year development cycle, we had the opportunity – very early on – to talk about what we could do for our most hardcore Zombies fans. We wanted to do something for those who have been a part of making Zombies what it is today.

Our plans for last week’s San Diego Comic-Con actually began with our presentation at the DICE Summit in February: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iisQ5dOBVFQ

ScreenShot2015-07-14at8.20.10AM_zpsd0kjg

(Coincidence? We think not.)

When we realized we could deliver on having the Juggernog, we just knew that we had to do it. But the Juggernog Editions is only part of the story – we couldn’t wait to bring youShadows of Evil.

Shadows of Evil is a brand new Zombies experience that stars four tragically flawed characters – the Femme Fatale, The Boxer, The Cop and The Magician (played by Heather Graham, Ron Perlman, Neal McDonough and Jeff Goldblum) – all brought together under mysterious circumstances. During our panel, we premiered the trailer for “Shadows of Evil” that can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdLqsWDl16c

During our panel, we also shared with fans that we’d be brining back the four original Zombies characters in “The Giant,” a bonus map that is included with all of our Collector’s Editions. It gives fans the opportunity to re-live the chaos of our classic “Der Riese” Zombies map, while picking up the Zombies story with Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen and Takeo – right where Origins left off. If you haven’t seen it already, you should check out the trailer for “The Giant” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmliMQMnUj0

Up until now the Zombies community has never had a physical place to celebrate. And it was awesome to see just how many of your came out to support us in San Diego. For those that made it to the panel – thank you, we really appreciate it. For those that couldn’t make it or who have not yet checked out the trailers that we shared at the show; hopefully, this brings a little bit of Comic-Con back to you.

Thank you!

Shadows of Evil -The Ride

Quote

Six Flags Magic Mountain will raise the dead to celebrate it's 23rd annual Fright Fest.

In addition to the world-class line-up of thrill rides, the theme park will be transformed into a haunted "scream park" for six frightfully fun weekends.

Fright Fest offers 17 days of terrifying haunted mazes, roaming zombies, the scariest clowns on the planet and spooky shows ... leaving no tombstone unturned to bring the ultimate sensory overload for every range of fear.  For the little monsters, a Trick or Treat Trail and Halloween Crafts round out the activities during the daylight hours ... but once the clock hits 7:00p.m., the ghouls come out to haunt the park.

September 26, 27, October 2-4, 9-11, 16-18, 23-25, 30, 31 and November 1.
Fright Fest activities not available on Monday, October 12.

Plan your Terror in advance. Check out our Fright Fest guide for times and attraction information.

All wood, sent from the future.

Head into the bunker and get ready to launch into the front line of battle on this blazingly fast drive into sci-fi combat. Future war has turned the world into a bleak, burned out wasteland and you are living the aftermath. Apocalypse is the all-wooden roller coaster that rips through this ominous desert on an ultra-fast track. You’ve gotta ride like the wind to escape.

You made it past the security checkpoint and high tech monitors explaining your assignment. Now pile into the industrial cars and launch onto a track that is all wood and all muscle. Get ready to dodge explosive wrecks and maneuver some of the most insane drops and swift turns the future will ever produce.

The first hill is a blisteringly steep 100 feet. Alright, one down, four more kamikaze drops to go. You’ll pummel that track at a staggering 52 miles per hour, facing plummets, gut-wrenching swerves, and adventurous obstacles.

You won’t believe how fast this wooden brute runs as it takes a series of daredevil pivots and shoots through mist-filled tunnels – just in time for more total mayhem on the track. But hey, it’s all in a day’s work for a soldier from the future.

Prepare for the awakening. Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI), and award-winning developer Treyarch have released new details for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Awakening, the first DLC pack for the blockbuster Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Featuring four new action-packed multiplayer maps and a new Zombies experience set in a medieval Austrian castle during World War II, Awakening releases on February 2, 2016, first on the PlayStation® Network for the PlayStation 4 games and entertainment system from Sony, with other next-gen platforms to follow.

Well, it looks like it has already started.

A Black Screen.

I think it's a bit of a troll for all the people that say "Black Ops 3".

But I think that over time, little by little, this image will reveal Treyarch's next Call of Duty Logo

To put this in perspective. Treyarch only had 2 other "Facebook Covers". These are what they are

Wait has anyone tried to brighten the image?

@Nightmare Voyager

Though my photo editing skills are very basic, I inverted the colours, brightened, sepiad, saturated, pasturised. All to a blank image.

Ah okay, well maybe their is some other way of changing the image, that or it is just black for a reason....

After the recent hype that we may going back to WWII, I'm really excited (and hopeful) to see a World at War 2 style Zombies. Good thread.

@Tac I'm hoping for a mix of WW2 era and hopefully atleast one map set in ancient times, where we learn what the O4 did in the past to be commemorated with such giant statues in ORIGINS' excavation site.

@GRILL, for real though man, like why was everyone bowing down to them when they had the staffs? Oh man my mouth is watering just thinking about it

Lets look at it like this, I can see the being huge this year for several reasons.

Closure.

I can see us visiting ancient times, world war 1 and 2 again and then the future and back to the past/current time all within the game and DLC's. I think we can assume that the story is ending or the story as we know it will end and it will fork into a new alternative timeline.

We always assume the story is ending, but LBH, until we see some evidence it actually is, I'm going to assume we're moving forward.

Perhaps with next gen allowing MUCH bigger abilities and the extra time with maps we can get a few micro-dlc maps that take place in the past. I think that would be nice. All in all though, I want  to continue the story after buried, or after origins depending on the theory you fallow.
