Hello everybody! (This post is about beer/alcohol, so mature content is within)

For the last few weeks/months I have been Home Brewing Beer & converting my chest freezer into a "Keezer", Kegerator or Beer Fridge.

My wife was actually all for this project, as in the long run, IT WILL SAVE MONEY! It is pretty much all finished & ready for the Christmas/New year Break! All stocked up.

I didn't take as many photos as I had wished, but here are a few that I did.

First you must brew... These are just "can extracts" but are simple to achieve decent results.

I had an old Chest freezer which is big enough to hold kegs, so that is what I used.

I painted the fridge black (should have used better paint)

I made a "Collar" for the fridge so I can mount my taps & mount other things.

I then made the base frame with castor wheels so that it is mobile

Because this is a Freezer, I had to make a temperature controller so my beer wouldn't freeze.

(Not Mine)

I bought a Co2 Gas bottle to Carbonate & pour my beer

Then my Kegs & Beer Faucet arrived!!!

I made an additional Collar Facia to make it look a bit better.

I drilled a hole & mounted the beer tap.

I stained the collar

Mounted my Temperature controller on the back

Put some insulation on the inside

And "racked" my beer into the kegs

Little Nikolai helped me clean out the beer lines

(And decided to "pinstripe" the front with a screwdriver)

This is the (almost) finished product

@PINNAZ You, sir, are a genius. Come time when I can purchase these tools without being questioned, consider this the go-to invention. :D

By the way, what size are your kegs and CO2 tank?

Thanks @

It was a really fun project to do. Now that I have the room, time & trying to save money on buying commercial beer. Beer is expensive here compared to the US.

The money I spent making this I will save within 6 months of buying beer.

The kegs I bought are 19 Litre (or 5 Gallon in your talk) & the gas bottle is a 6kg (don't know what it's classified as in US)

They are actually (originally) Pepsi or Coke soda kegs.

When should be by for a pint??

I took the lazy man's route and bought my kegerator off Amazon for 500 bucks. Still a great investment to this day. If I was in the least bit handy I would give it a shot, but you are a better man than I! Nice job!

You have a Kegerator Boom? We can be friends.

A lot of my mates have them nowadays so I had a lot of help & advice.

I was going to by a kegerator, they are about $500-$700 here, but I'd have about a $100 freight bill on top. Discovered a lot of people converting freezers & thought I'd use the freezer which I already had.

You guys are welcome for a beer anytime you are in Oz.

@PINNAZ brilliant, my dad did homebrew for a while the wifes dads also makes home brew (also does sacky wine or rice wine).

The wife said she would have been really impressed if you had installed a drip tray, because it's missing she ain't that impressed and only gives ya 6 out of 10, if the drip tray was installed it was a 10 out 10 :P

On another note, the option to share video on other sites seems to be disabled on the video, can only be viewed on youtube directly ;)

Everybody talks about the dripstray.... I was going to mount one, but the taps that I bought are really good & don't drip at all. The puddle you see is water when I was cleaning it.

Thanks for the video heads up.

@PINNAZ - it's a cracker to be honest. I'm not much of a drinker these days, think I drank enough from 16 to 30 to last a lifetime. I never had a drink out of my hand from Friday to Sunday every weekend. I still enjoy a drink but it's more in moderation, I can do without and it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Although the wife went to the shops the other day and spent over £100 ($150) on alcohol for Christmas, no need tbh, everyone that's coming either doesn't drink or is driving on Christmas day lol

@way2g00d You are a Legend!

That is such an awesome idea that I have added a poll & made some prototypes.

Vote & tell me what Perk I should make the Fridge

I will add a second tap to the front soon so maybe "Double Tap"

But I also really like "Der Wunderfizz"

Hahaha, thanks bud! I like all the perks but I think Double tap suits better looking at the square shape. Kudos to you for making this happen =) Go Pinnaz.

UPDATE!!!!

So I am expecting my Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Jugger-Nog Fridge Edition to arrive tomorrow & I have been thinking for the last few days that I have to put a Perk Machine on the front of my fridge to go with my Jugger-Nog Fridge.

I rendered the Double-Tap II Root Beer Perk Machine from Black Ops II. Size is 3025x1800 Pixels (80cm x 46cm) printed it out on A4 paper & stuck it together. My printer ran out of ink on the last segment (the part that says double which it fitting because there is only 1 tap)

I'm going to get a sign writer to either print it out as a decal/sticker or I might make it magnetic so that I can remove it & also make all the other Perk-a-Cola Machines!!!

So here is a test run I did to make sure that the size is correct & it looked ok.
