  1. "CAN YOU HEAR ME? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ONLY 100 MORE STEPS TO GO!"
  2. Hi Horseman, I believe you're looking for http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/forum/7-teammate-finder/
  3. I'm on a web browser. I had to manually edit it out of this post, but it's much more evident here http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/topic/158370-proof-that-team-zombies-didnt-work-on-mob-and-origins/#entry1476413
  4. Spoilers, obviously. I loved the branching storylines, but it could've been handled so much better. We don't really know the consequences of our actions. Kill Farid or Harper? DUH! Farid! Oh wait, I got the bad ending even though they gave me zero hint about it. I wonder how BO3 wiill handle it, considering the move from last gen to current gen. Will it have save files determine the status of the story? Or just make certain/most popular options canon? David was a very boring protagonist that really held the story back. With Alex, you were actually invested in the story. What are those gosh darned numbers? Who are these interrogators? Why am I strapped in a torture chair?! With Davey boy, al lwe get is "my dad died, we gotta stop Menendez i guess".
  5. Great discussion starting topic. What a great way for CoDz to start 2014 right with some great posts. Definitely not in terms of Story. One of the biggest shortcomings in this game was that the story didn't really have a direction. The N4's story never felt "complete" so to speak. It felt more about the Steps than the Reasons behind the EE, personally. We also get zero update on the O4 from Moon, creating one of many loose ends. In terms of Gameplay however, Origins is fantastic. It combines the classic Black Ops 1 feel while giving it a Modern twist with new mechanics that aren't frustrating to deal with it. I really hope the "challenge" system makes a return in a future map. Mainly story. Our story was so lackluster in BO2, there's no way Treyarch will be a two-time loser with 3. In general, yes. Even though they were too ambitious at the moment (TranZit MK. II on XBone/PS4/PC without anything holding it back like console limitations will be incredible) they do stay true to the classic formula and generally give a good experience on all maps at least. As I don't play MP that much, I'd have to say that Vengeance had to be the worst in terms of Zombies. Buried seriously suffers from the EZ PZ issue with such mechanics like the Paralyzer, Time Bomb, Bank, Witches, and more. In the end, we get two lackluster endings of either Eddy getting "total control" (We don't have an idea of what power the MPD has, so we can't understand what total control really is) or Maxis usurping Richtofen in his quest to open Agartha. I'd have to say Apocalypse. Origins combines what makes Mob so wonderful without making "gimmicks" an annoyance. It was a nice change of pace to Hell Hoppers and unnecessary complex map design for the reason of VERTICALITY! -How did the VAs and Music do? Though people seem to dislike my homeboy Clark, I think he did fine. I really hope we get to see more of him the next game. Malukah did great too (congrats to her for finally hitting the big time!) but I'm worried that BO3 will exclusively feature her. A7X is cool with me, too. On the subject of Elena, we probably won't be seeing her for a LONG time as she has a job at Irrational Games (Bioshock Infinite developers) and Kevin will most likely respect that by waiting until the last map to have her sing (which will be a LOOOOOOOONG time from now. Trust me, Acti will milk this cash cow for as long as possible). The N4 was great, but I really wished they fleshed out their respective stories. Buried teases us with their potential, but not much comes out from it. Misty is a good character, but she needs more of a story. For now, she's just the boring Farm Girl. What was her past life like? How does she really feel about Marlton? It's good to see ALL the O4 cast, but really? Normal personalities? We needed some Honorable American Vodka poisoned Spleens in Origins! Funnily enough, it seems that people are digging Origins Takeo (For me personally I really like how his accent isn't so forced) and hating Origins Nikolai (Take away the Vodka, and you take away the man). -What was the most innovative thing you have seen to freshen up Zombies? Hard choice. It's very close between Digging, Der Wunderfizz, and Challenges. Digging's a pretty nice system that rewards continued use with better drops (Powerups, Perk Slots and more), but I personally think it's best as an Origins exclusive feature. The long requested Der Wunderfizz really shakes the game up. Bored of your usual Perk loadout or don't have enough for that certain machine? Take a spin with Der Wunderfizz, and randomly get what you need. Challenges are pretty great as they reward skill and aren't just these easy "kill 5 Zombies with a knife" stuff. -Team Maxis, or Team Richtofen? Richtofen all the way. I knew from the start that Maxis was planning something evil, and I simply chose the lesser of two evils. One of the few things that Origins makes me angry about is that it implies that the Maxis side was canon according to one of the more logical theories. Why include a story that's seemingly was community focused, and then drop it without any sort of results? All in all, I'm looking into 2014 with high hopes for Story (More CONSPIRACY! quotes) and using the new console's power to create innovative, but not frustrating gameplay. Off Topic, but why are sections of my post being covered in white? It's very annoying to try and fix every single part of it.
  6. Yeah, there's more than likely certain groups working on certain maps due to contracting and rotation, but it's pretty interesting that his post implies that Team Zombies had a lesser role in Origins/Mob. On a side note Reddit really isn't that scary of a place, but it can be pretty annoying. The beauty of it is that you can customize what kind of content your account and even easily crate your own "subreddit" (think of a mini community for a x topic) but the voting system completely favors little-effort posts, and disadvantages controversial opinions. Good point, but I'm always curious about how the Team(s) made the maps, the Easter Eggs, the story quotes (because who doesn't like to hear about Vodka and Conspiracies?!) It's a shame we didn't get a CoDXP last year.
  7. While browsing reddit the other day I noticed something very interesting. There was a giveaway for a Developer signed copy of Black Ops II (wish I could've told you all, but the site was down for the mega redesign). Reading it, I noticed the OP said this: This is signed by the core Black Ops 2 Zombies team, I went around and got it exclusively signed by those of us who worked on TranZit at the time (as well as Die Rise and Buried thereafter). I find it odd how he doesn't mention that the Zombies team didn't work on Mob or Origins. This would imply that another team mainly worked on the maps. Maybe this is finally sufficient proof that the Campaign team created both maps, as I had my doubts before. What do you guys think about this? Proof: http://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfGaming/comments/1ukl5u/giveaway_developer_signed_codbo2/ EDIT: Why is a part of my post white highlighted? That's pretty weird.
  8. I hate to be a smartass, but Moon's One Giant Leap achievement forced you to kill yourself and respawn to get it. Anyways, I think the Elemental Knife is just a seemingly-intentional glitch.
  9. It looks kinda fun, but I'm not personally hyped as some of you guys are. It seems to be simply a reskinned Zombies mode. I'd like to play it, but it doesn't seem worth the effort to deal with translating Chinese, playing around with Proxies, and listening to only Chinese while I play Nacht with a different setting.
  10. Found it. Here's two "Theories" (anything's fair game at this point) of mine that attempts to get an explanation of Origin's ending/Side Quest Though Homicide Automation 10 has a much better understanding of Alternato Timelines than me, I still had my own thoughts about it.
  11. Since the story at the moment is all wibbelly-wobbelly Samantha is the anomaly, everything's open to interpretation. At this point, any so-called "theories" are us looking too deep into a tangled web, trying to find a super secret hidden message. Personally, I think the team can work with "Alternate Timelines" next game as a reason for Origins and make people think Origins was amazingly elaborate and 10/10 writing. I'll dig up my last post about my views on the story in a sec.
  12. I'm in Die Rise with a group of friends, they're all dead except for me. I try to train on the roof, but things get messy, and I go down. BUM BUM BUM BUM BUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, WHO'S WHO? It's a pipe dream, but I go for it. My body is behind the entrance to the roof, and I'm at the area where you get the Purple Meteor. SOMEHOW, SOMEWAY, I manage to squeeze out the exit where a truck load of Zombies were coming in, make my way through the door way separating the roof avoiding 2 crawlers, and get to my body. Through pure luck, I get behind my body to block the hoard from taking me down in order to get the revive. BOOM! BACK FROM THE DEAD BABY! I'm back in the action, and everyone's going wild at my lucky revive. I end the round, feeling like a total beast. Wanna know how I died that game? I really wish Theater had a feature to upload to my Youtube account. That was pretty insane stuff.
  13. It makes sense doesn't it? During the loong, looong, off-season, we get a bi/tri-monthly comic book. It could slowly build up the first map of BO3, or simply give us background stories. It's obvious that Actvi/Trey have the talent for full-fledged comics. As much as I hate to say this, they can even make a huge profit from it (asssuming modern day comics are 4.00 bucks a pop) by selling it for $20-25. Though it's a bit late into the series to start doing this now (My money is on them finally ending it in Black Ops 4), it's still a great idea that's a win/win to both parties.
  14. While I do think it's time to pass the torch, we never really got our fair share of O4 last game. I'd at least want to play as them one last time and finally get some answers.
  15. Looking back at this, this was wasted potential really. I understand that Elena is busy at Irrational Games and will probably never sing again till the VERY LAST map (which won't happen for a while since 3arc is smart enough to milk this cahs cow for everything it's got), but the other singers should've gotten their own parts to the song. My boy Clark only growls in this! While I do worry we're going to see the "BO3 Zombies as sung by only Malukah and maybe A7X one time", I hope that Nova gets a bigger part in the next game. I loved Carrion, but We All Fall Down was kinda rocky. He has potential, but he should improve his screaming music voice from my view. Trust me, their paychecks are thanking them. It's a great deal on both ends to have talent that adds variety to the product and generates hype and it's great to gain a lot of new fans who go "Duude Shepherd of Fire is awesome I should check out Hail To The King and the rest of the album too!".
  16. Yay, we're back. I'm glad to see everything has worked out for the most part. It's gonna be exciting to get back into the groove of things. I've unfortunately probably won't be picking up Ghosts at the moment, but I'll swing by the Extinction section to see how things are going. Congrats to Carbon for having the opportunity to even be on the Treyarch team. Thinking about it, even having a temp job there is a HUGE accomplishment that I can only dream of. I heard he's looking into a job for the new TeenTitan Fall game but anything's possible. Good luck to you, creator! ((Off Topic: My posts seem to be getting shorter this go round. I hope this is just a phase...))
  17. Thanks for posting. It's not really piquing my interest ("Oh yeah those Aliens? Just another day, Charlie Brava Alpha Tango Sectar Whiskey Oscar Trevor."). I wish the mode was designed storyline wise as they're actually in danger from an Alien evil, and not going about it like it's just your run of the mill field op. Then again, we know from the start that this is gonna play more like MW3's Survival, and not Zombies. I'll be sure to check this out on the 7th to see if there's anything of interest (Even though it's a long shot, side quests?) Personally, this is just sealing the cracks on a sinking ship with a very, very thin roll of duck tape.
  18. Wow, thanks for opening my eyes on that one. I suppose this is the spammers/scammers way: Persist until someone falls for the bait. Looks like Nathan's Post Verification system will be pretty effective, unless those Spam Workers play Zombies on break or something.
  19. I'm just theorizing here, but the IP ban wouldn't work. It's obvious the spammers are based in the UK, and judging by how much spam CODZ receives a day, I'm going with my idea of them using a TOR browser or a VPN and refreshing their I.P everytime they get banned. The ONLY way I can think of stopping the spam appearing is to have some kind of "Post Verified" function for new members with less than 10 posts. Think Asylum, but everywhere and for new people under 10 verified posts. That way we know if the person is a spammer before we let them loose on the forums. Great idea. Have a post verification system for less than 5 posts (10 seems to push it a little), make sure it's not a Copy and Paste from somewhere else on the forum, and censor the **** please report this topic, post **** sites instead of the words K I T C H E N and S A L E. It does seem odd that the bots evolved though. Do you think the spam is an inside job? No bot-making in their right mind would have this much dedication to one forum.
  20. I'll admit, I got a little worried when I sorry your topic title! Zombies can be a very tedious and boring game. Some people have the endurance for it, and some don't. To some, it's not really worth trying to get into the 100's if it takes you hours upon hours of the same map, with the same character. Sure, they can pause and take breaks, but people have lives beyond Zombies and they'd rather not have their console overheat.. In short, suiciding (in the game of course) allows you to escape the repetition of Hoard Kill Repeat and the much hated hitting the box, hoping to refill your WW's ammo, and to preserve your stats. If I think the game's dragging on, I'll personally go into death wish mode and train in horrible spots in order to kill myself. I'm not too sure I understand you're reasoning there. With solo, you at least have the advantage of taking breaks and not feeling guilty if you just wanna end it. I know someone going down in CO-OP can easily be a game ender, but having a competent team kinda makes that a moot point.
  21. You know what? That's honestly on me, my apologies. At the time, I was thinking in terms of difficulty instead of properly thinking of the amount of steps, since in my opinion Little Lost Girl is much more doable compared to other side quests if you're still on a low round and totally focused on completing it.
  22. Thanks everyone for the replies! It's great to see that so many people can articulate thoughts better than me. Your posts have given me a new perspective to the maps (How tedious they are, and how forced the EEs are). That, and simply getting the Wonder Weapon(s) and "Pack a Punching" them is a huge chunk of a the Side Quest. By the time you're set up for a long game, you pretty much have most of the Easter Egg done. I know I'm not directly answering you're question, but Moon's Easter Egg was high risk and high reward. All the perks in the map for the rest of the game!? With Origins, all you get was Super Fists (which don't seem much useful with all the other powerful weapons unless all 4 players can't somewhere) and the Not-So-Crazy Place (which isn't worth the effort by itself considering there's already at least 4 places to run trains at on the map). Off topic, but I think the bank could work in the next game. There was a post earlier this year which I can't find for the life of me that said something like the Bank could be open with a ridiculous amount of Monkey Bombs (Like 48) and over 15k points to prevent a 20-hour round 1.
  23. I've been thinking recently about both Origins and Mob of the Dead and the popularity of these maps. Both maps have a very distinct and different playstyle compared to other maps. Based on the praise received from the maps, we can expect to see more of them in Black Ops 3:Ghouls (Working title). Does this mean we're slowly drifting away from the more "Traditional" style of maps? I personally think we can have the best of both worlds in the next game. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a quickie match without an intricate 20-step Side Quest to Pack a Punch. Other times I want to have a fun challenge with the spare time on my hands. What's your view on this?
  24. Good thread, friend. Nice to see positivity in regards to Black Ops II for once. Off the top of my head, I'd say Black Ops 2 showed us a map could be slower-paced and still good. Having actual objectives instead of the usual Hoard Kill Repeat was a welcome change in the series. Our new cast of characters show that you don't have to be super obvious stereotypes in order to be a funny/entertaining character. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope the 04 don't come back in the vanilla maps of Black Ops III: Ghouls (working title). More to come when I get time (read: never)
  25. Buried has spoiled you. The RGM2 is meant to be very rare, but with locking down the box and pretty much unlimited dough you can easily get that, no problem. Other maps you actually have pray to Richtofen he's nice enough to give you a RGM2 on an early go. With power, comes a price. The Ray Gun Mark II's price is rarity.
