  1. The trailer sort of implies a more cerebral approach to future tech and bionic soldiers, and I really hope that's the case for the game itself. I'm still holding out hope it won't be all exo-suit-jumpy-flying-machine like Advanced Warfare.
  2. I got something different. Assuming we're using the same cipher that Buried used, I got NCEY and OURS for the bottom two. The top line has two possibilities since it seems to be cut off. If those boxes have a top line that's cut off, they are NNQJ. If they don't have a top line, it's EEHA. This comes out like this: *NNQJ* *EEHA* NCEY OURS Using a mixture of possibilities from the top line, you can come up with ENHANCE YOURS. That's the best I could come up with.
  3. I haven't been around too much so I don't have a whole lot to add, but I do find the new design sort of loud and distracting. I don't even know why exactly, because it's not all that different from the previous version. Might just take some getting used to, or could just be old age. All I know is suddenly my eyes hurt .
  4. I haven't seen it touched on yet, so I wanted to add to the discussion about references to the Soviet-Afghan war. From the biography of Dr. Salim Ahmed Salim: The Sixth Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly was called to discuss "The situation in Afghanistan and its implications for international peace and security". The resolution they reached at this session (detailed here) was an immediate withdrawal of foreign intervention by member states, essentially to let Afghanistan fight their own battle. We all know how that worked out. The Seventh Emergency Special Session six months later was held to discuss the situation between Palestine and Isreal. They resolved (detailed here) that the only way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East was for Israel to withdraw from Jerusalem and all other occupied Arab territories. Again, we all know how that worked out. Other than that, almost all of Dr. Salim's work was centered around Africa and his home country of Tanzania, including holding public office there for almost 30 years. If this is indeed the man that Treyarch is referencing, you'd have to think his time as President of the UN is why. As far as a timeline goes, I tend to agree with @Matuzz that the snapchats are the memories of a soldier being drawn from his subconscious, so I don't really know where that leaves us. It does seem like we're heading to the Middle East though.
  5. "Time is Running Out" was our bar anthem back when I was 22. I'd love to have Muse in the game.
  6. He makes it look so easy, but this is so unbelievably hard. He gets caught on the stairs with 332 kills, and that could easily have been the end of the run. So much has to go right for this to happen, and my hat goes off to him. Really impressive.
  7. I knew that house looked familiar. I grew up a mile away from Fair Lawn, and used to ride BMX in that park all the time. When I saw his tweet it really looked like my home town to me, but I figured I was projecting and there was a million places that looked just like that. Unfortunately I don't have any relevant local legend about that house that I can share. I will say this though - there is a ton of "weird" shit all over New Jersey, hence the magazine Weird New Jersey. Within 20 miles of that area alone there's a ton of creepy stuff to check out, but this house isn't one of them. If he's tweeting a picture of this place, I'd have to think it's a very specific reference to something, and not just some vague "look at this legendary spooky place". @83457 lives nearby, I think we need to have him investigate further.
  8. I can tell you from playing Destiny on Xbox One, there's a scenario where you can kill 10-20 enemies with one shot, and there is still significant frame drop, just like on 360. I don't think we're going to see larger hordes for that reason. The ability to make larger maps is probably something they'll take advantage of with the new hardware though.
  9. I would think we'll probably see a more traditional 2 or 3 distinct maps on disc at launch instead of what they did with Green Run for Black Ops II. I think the general feel of the game will be closer to Origins and Mob of the Dead than anything else. I'm sure there will be a different ranking/leaderboard system, but that will probably still be tied to what they use for multiplayer. Story-wise I don't have any expectations about what direction they're going to go.
  10. Is there anyone who pre-ordered Advanced Warfare and has a code for the shader in Destiny that they aren't going to use? I would love to have that.
  11. That's a very good point, @Kyle8957. I'm starting to think that maybe they won't release the next game on Atari or PS1.
  12. The story has absolutely zero effect on my, and I assume most's, decision to buy the DLC. The next game could feature Justin Bieber and 3 of his middle school friends as the characters and I would still buy it if the gameplay were the same.
  13. I like Extinction a lot, but I don't really like playing it with randoms, so I don't play it that much. Not in five months, probably. And I can't bring myself to buy the DLC just for the Extinction map, so I only have the first two maps. It's a game mode I enjoy, but unfortunately I'll probably never play much.
  14. No you cannot, as noted in the post directly above yours.
