  1. A good read. You should do one for Black Ops.
  2. Funny how I'm posting a year after this thread was made but yeah. This guide is good for getting Jug asap but otherwise it hurts you in the long run if you follow this. The fastest strategy in Mob is running the acid trap strategy with the Redeemer, and the best way for doing it fast is to keep both the shower and infirmary doors from the cafeteria closed. As long as you get your redeemer, jug and the gat from the box (preferably) you are good. Honestly you don't really have to even use the box for it. I hit Round 170 without even recycling it once. Once you stop camping and start training the only perk you need is Jug. Speed Cola is recommended for Insta-kill but no other perks are advised. It's actually a lot simpler than a lot of people think.
  3. I know this topic has been quiet for a long time, but I have some numbers to use to check the validity of the formulas here if anyone wants to do the calculations. I've been playing MotD on Solo a lot lately and spent several rounds using only the Hell's Redeemer on the bridge. There are no power-ups, no traps, no despawning zombies so these numbers should be perfect. I removed any Brutuses killed from these numbers. Round 112: 1,113 zombies Round 126: 1,452 zombies Round 160: 2,348 zombies Hopefully this information proves useful. I haven't seen anyone with rounds above 100 actually post the exact number of zombies per round from actual gameplay so I figured I should post these.
  4. Currently on Round 170 Mob of the Dead. Wish me luck! I want to hit 200 this game.

You... could have been tied for rank 1 if you played online. When will you play a bo1 map, you could have played 4 instakill rounds.

I only do Local now. That's good to know though. BO1 Idk lol. I still need to break 100 on Die Rise and I will redo MotD for 200. To be honest I don't see why more people haven't hit 200 on it. It isn't that hard, just long.

  5. Ok, first off, the staff quote Richtofen says goes exactly like this: Samantha: "You have one of the staffs! You have to keep going. You have to find the others." Richtofen: "I seek the staffs for myself Samantha. Not for you!" This dialogue happens after you make your first staff. Richtofen will sometimes also comment on how he knows the staves' power will help protect him. The other quote "You will not prevent me from reaching Agartha!" he will say often, pretty much he has a chance of saying it whenever he kills a zombie (pretty sure he only says it after Sam begins trying to talk to you). This is not an Easter egg quote, trust me. I have played many, many high rounds games on Origins.
  6. The idea of a dynamically-changing Zombies experience does sounds cool. Maybe a map that changes every two rounds or so, like the place gets flooded so you have to move to another are but dries in a few rounds? I know people will complain a bit about any changes Treyarch makes to Zombies as they know it but honestly I wouldn't mind some mix-ups. Heck, I would love to see a power-up like the Death Machine that would let you control a Dragonfire or some other vehicle that could kill zombies like it was Insta-kill. People hate change but there have been some fun additions to Zombies when things get mixed up a bit, like No Man's Land.
  7. I have never seen more than 2 regular drops appear on Round 1. On rare occasions a drop will show up in the first two zombies, but more often the last two zombies will let a drop spawn.
  8. It may well be the first map in which the O4 meet, but in what way does that make me wrong? -MOTD is still in a multitude of possible areas, -Origins is only confirmed to be the place the O4 meet, does this mean it's the first map chronologically? No. It means it's the first map that THAT takeo, THAT tank, THAT nikolai, and THAT richtofen met THAT sam and THAT maxis. There's lots of provocation of the idea of alternate reality. Thank you black hand, you're post about the trailers is greatly appreciated! You only see what you want to see. Look at the Origins video and you see ALL the maps. In reverse order. With Origins being the first. "Every story has a beginning and an end." And then they flash the Origins logo. There is nothing in that video that does anything but tell us that this is one - just one - story. The maps are all shown together. Officially from Treyarch, this is one story, not multiple ones. They have never said anything about alternate realities for this. In the maps we see many things that don't seem to add up but at the end of the day the map order is one of the things Treyarch has given us. And on that subject, which is the one this thread is about, I have played my cards and you have played nothing. Thanks for wasting my time by getting me to post multiple times here repeating myself. In that you have won, but in nothing else.
  9. Good job almost killing me with the fail Acid Gat, Treyarch. Sadly for you I'm still going. You shall not prevent me from hitting 150!

  10. This is what I am referring to for confirmation. Go ahead and argue MMX and everyone else - but argue with this, not me, cause I get this straight from the people who make the game. Also see this video and watch from when they first start showing Origins. See what the first thing they say about Origins is, then come back and tell me I'm wrong. I will be here waiting. If the guy responsible for making the map tells you something like this and you ignore it, you're being stupid. I don't care if you think they messed up their timeline or if a lot of things are up to you to figure out - this is one thing that is CONFIRMED, yes CONFIRMED, and I will stand by what I said.
  11. You are correct that I forgot Five. I shall edit my post to add it alongside Ascension. Good post with the picture. Mocking, you are wrong. Treyarch has made it quite clear through the Origins trailer and by stating it directly in the Apocalypse trailer that Origins is the very first O4 map and that the others follow in the exact order I listed. The N4 maps also are confirmed by the Die Rise and Buried cutscenes. Five is shown to be at the same time as Ascension through something in Ascenscion, and Moon's events are happening in front of you as you play Nuketown. There is nothing unconfirmed here. The only thing that is up in the air is the exact date of Mob of the Dead which is still not 100% confirmed but we have clues as to its general timeframe. MMX and others may have theories about various things and alternate timelines but in the end unless Treyarch has confirmed them they are and will continue to be just theories. However, the map chronology above other than MotD is CONFIRMED. Stop trying to look for arguments. It's good to debate but you have opinions against my facts (in the few places you actually don't agree with me).
  12. Great posts guys. Now I'll post my own perspective. I have a love-hate relationship with Mob. I love a lot of the features in the map but I do not like all the plane building and fueling work. I also hate how inconsistent the Acid Gat is - honestly they knew you would need it with the layout of the map and it doesn't always work. As Mega said, really good features overall (especially afterlife and the tomahawk) that are balanced out by the map being really hard to train on and survive in. My bane is the Acid Gat though. For real, that thing makes me wanna cry sometimes. I wish there had been more perks and a few more open spots. The story was cool but to me, gameplay matters most. I do wish this map was more co-op friendly though. Origins re-did this map just a bit better. Overall I feel like Mob was a good map and a true landmark for Zombies (did I mention I love the red eyes?). Treyarch tried and succeeded at bringing us a fun and fresh take on Zombies while keeping a lot of things we loved from before. I liked the new weapons and map exclusive weapons, I like the different music all over the map and the unique HUD. Overall, I would love to see more maps like this from Treyarch.
  13. Since Mob of the Dead was officially released. Remember all the hype and the excitement? I sure do. I remember being meh that I had to go to work that morning. I remember getting up early and waiting for the download to be available. Now that Mob of the Dead has been out one year, what are your thoughts on it?
  14. The zombie was just sitting there? Lol.
  15. Overconfidence occasionally thinking I can do something that doesn't work out. Luck. Luck either helps or hurts me. Zombie shield breaking at a critical moment. Acid Gat monkey betrayal. Gosh that makes me mad. Going down and having the zombies blocking all directions. Bad teammates. They can ruin it by playing awful or by quitting. Hackers and glitchers.
  16. I agree with this to an extent. I am a storyline enthusiast, and I absolutely HATED this map initially, and even still to some extent. Sure the map is a lot of fun, and the design and balance to it is great for high round runs, but it is too little to late for me. When I put the BO2 disc in, the only map worth playing is Origins. This should not have been the case. Origins should have been the way BO2 started. Not from a storyline POV, but from the map and features POV. I find most other maps tragically poor when compared to Origins. Going from Moon to Tranzit was terrible. Die Rise is also a garbage map IMO, and the series only started getting better from MotD onwards. Unfortunately Buried is so full of features and no balance that it became a joke map that looked great but was boring as hell to play and was OP when it came to the features available. Origins is good, but is it good enough for a finale to the series? Not even remotely. I think Mob of the Dead was pretty good. Die Rise is ok too and was more fun before the Sliquifier was ruined. If you like Solo Mob is really fun imo.
  17. Getting set up on Origins IS the Easter egg. To be honest the rewards are actually really good and worth the effort in my opinion. The only real flaw of Origins is the glitches/bugs. Otherwise it's a fun and special Zombies experience up there with Mob of the Dead as the best Black Ops 2 Zombies map. I mean, look at the other maps and you will see what I mean. Origins is amazing and I love it. It felt very new and fresh like Mob did and even now I still enjoy playing it.

  19. It is a good thing to ponder, though. What is the significance of those blood vials? We never got even a solid hint on that.
  20. You're just going to confuse this guy. The order I listed them in is as close to accurate as we can be sure of based off, as I said, info from Treyarch and in the maps. To a newcomer to zombies the theories (yes, they are theories, Treyarch has not officially confirmed what you are saying) you are bringing up are simply going to be confusing. The question was answered. That is all.
  21. Origins Mob of the Dead Nacht Der Untoten Verruckt Shi no Numa Der Riese Kino Der Toten Ascension/Five Call of the Dead Shangri-La Moon/Nuketown Tranzit Die Rise Buried At least based off of info in the maps and from Treyarch, this is the order known at this time.
  22. If you die because a Monkey Bomb (or something designed to function similarly) fails to fulfill its purpose, the fault is 20% yours for relying on said item, the other 80% is Treyarch's fault

I just enjoy the game overall. However things like monkey fails make me irritated because it usually happens hours into the game and it hurts a lot.

  23. Rissole nailed it. I second his post.
  24. Delta, you stated your opinion fine and I am not bothered. I also am stating my own and am not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. Keyser, I never singled you out. I realize this may be a touchy subject for you but please understand that I am not pointing at you. I did not know your ranking before I made this thread. Let me tell you about my own experience with the ranking system. I had Black Ops 2 at launch and after my initial rejection of Green Run's low quality survival maps I grew to love TranZit. I used to play it every night with friends or randoms online. In retrospect I was not all that good - I was usually the last one alive and clutched many rounds and knew to not use the bus and run a good train. I got a knife rank before I even cared about the system or ranks. Then Die Rise came out. By then I was getting more serious about rankings. I already had about 200,000 or so kills and at least 1500 Downs. I decided I was going to try for shotties and found only a few days after the map was out that it was really easy to camp with the Sliquifier. I played a lot of Solo games and broke 80 camping at least 4 times and ranked up. For a while I thought it was pretty awesome and went back to hit Round 74 on TranZit. That convinced me that I really was good enough to deserve the ranking. Mob came out. It hurt my stats but I wanted to get a 100 so I kept trying until I did. Buried I barely played. Origins I fell in love with and spent more time on than any map. I have over 1 million kills on my XBL stats now and from Origins my KD went up to about a 400 from a 350. But I had realized already that true skill is, like Chopper said, not dependent on your ranking. I have yet to meet a player who has hit 100 rounds legit on BO2 who hasn't had shotties (assuming they played on XBL). However I have encountered many people with shotties who have never hit 50 legit or even at all. What does that tell you? I also have a bunch of friends not from here who are smart but never got as far as I have but have Max rank. I stopped playing XBL Solo cause of disconnects and because I no longer care about my in-game stats. I don't think I could even lose my rank if I wanted to now. I look at the leaderboards and see people all around me who have hacked the game or glitched it out and so all I do now is just upload my stuff to YT so people can see I play fair. I don't need a rank to prove skill. It looks nice but all it says is "this guy has experience and isn't totally retarded". My other stats say more about me. But then I play Buried and am reminded of why I never spent time on it before. I am sorry but the map is far too easy. And that is why, when I see people who are whining about Black Ops 2 rank and then I see Buried, it seems to me like they are blind. I ranked up in Die Rise before there was a bank. It's only gotten easier.
  25. Good post with lots of interesting information. Keep it coming! Brains awarded.
