  1. Ah. Thank you both. Appreciated.
  2. How is this done? I feel stupid, but don't know. Once, solo, by the 'foot' for the Sliq, i kept hitting x and y and anything when it suddenly played a message. I have never heard one since, can't get them to play. So, what is the deal with them?

    Snow every round?

Glitches love to find me, or i, them. I didn't see any value in it. Rain makes more skag piles. At that point, the ice staff was always built... I assume it's just a glitch. Note that it didn't vary at all, just snow, every round. I assume it had something to do with the ice staff, but can't back that up with facts.
  4. Just a Q or 2; I haven't seen it recently, was it patched? Did we know why it happened? In 1 of my first Origins games, the first time that i upgraded the ice staff, it snowed for the rest of the game. This prompted me to write here that 'upgrading the ice staff makes it snow for the rest of the game'. That was clearly wrong, but this has happened 5+ times since then and i wonder why. Once snowed until i died on 39 (10-39). Always solo, except once, i believe. So, did we know why it glitched and is it patched? Thanks.
  5. Round 7/8 panzer/robot advice: Since round 8 will be a 3 robot lock-step round, be prepared. It would be best to wait for a lone robot (Thor g2/3 or Freya g6) to just start to come through. Then you kill the last round 7 zombie. That way, you won't have to deal with 3 robots while addressing the panzer on 8. By the time the trifecta appears, the panzer should be history.
  6. Thanks for clearing up rain after zb step. I probably am thinking of co-op on the fire-part-plane. Thanks for clearing that up too.
  7. Headchopper: on the bannister just past the wall buy gun spot, so you can walk past unhurt. Dying to your own hc is embarrassing. Edit: i actually fight 10 feet in front of the steps, as soon as you get on the steps, zombs start to come across the upstairs area, otherwise they almost always drop down by the buildable, only crossing the top when they get crowded like 50+. That's when you'll occasionally hear some chop-chop coming from above. The true genius part in my eyes was figuring out the ts in saloon. Thanks, and good luck. That rain fire step always gets me. But I've got some good advice here, i just haven't tried to implement it yet.
  8. Great job, very clear and well written. Thoughts: Robots. The first time that i saw the robot lock step, i figured this was a late game trap. Maybe point out that the red lights warn that a footprint is about to be stepped on? The red lights are pretty obvious and easy to see and give plenty of warning. Before round 4, the last zombie won't run, best time to hit a couple robot feet. Throwing grenades into the previous footprint, or next to the foot that is already down, can open the portal on the bottom of the foot so it is already open as it crosses the map. You can also shoot 1 ahead of time for a player waiting across the map, they stay open. The robot 3 step (not talking the Easter egg) comes every 4 rounds, not random (at least in solo). That being said, you can 'glitch' this; example: round 3, Odin starts to come through, you kill off round 3 and 4 before he finishes, as soon as he is done, you will get the 3 robot lock step (on 5, because it didn't get time on 4) It meant to come on 4, but the lone robot wasn't done. On every 4th round, as soon as a lone robot leaves, you get the 3 in lock step. Activating generators: if you step off of the pad as it activates, you will lose your 200 points. 200 to activate, once done, you get 100, if you were on the pad as it finished, you get your 200 point investment back. Very common to step off in solo and lose out on 200 points. Reward box: be sure to look at the correct orange icon for the reward that you want before hitting x. If you hit the wrong one, just wait for it to sink down and the box to close before hitting it again. G1 solo = x2, g1 mp = zombie blood. ASMB aren't super necessary at first, it is easy enough to walk a zombie or 3 over at the ends of rounds, eventually getting them. Rather than using the shield method, which gives no points. Just a different take on that. Generator zombies: once you pap, losing some generators can be fine. It its easy enough to reactivate them, so don't get yourself killed. Often enough 1 of the myriad nukes kills them during a round, just run for the max ammo. Early game, I'll let them take 2, 3, 6 as they are less important. Lightning staff: charged shots also sometimes do nothing, zombies walk through the purple balls untouched. Every charged staff can/will glitch, be ready for it. Often charged shots just don't fire, sometimes continuing to make the charging noise. Ice staff zombie blood note: it always rains the following round after use (except maybe 10/snow). Right? Doesn't it always rain next round? Also, round 7, do this, and kill the last zombie as you do. Then just take out the panzer in zb. Edit: does not always rain after ice staff/zb. The red-staff-part plane will sometimes not show up until as late as 10. Rare, but occurs. Edit: solo should be 5, latest. Co-op may be later. If the panzer downs you in solo, take a moment to shoot his face with the boomhilda while down. Solo lightning staff/tank: you want to keep your zombie alive and get the parts. Tank station: run last zombie from work shop, wait in door to tank station, watch past g2, as soon as he enteres the g2 area, run for tank and activate. Then he should neither de/respawn in front of tank, nor should he catch you. At church, hop down the mud path towards g5 but don't go over the wall. Wait for zombies, hop back to tank and activate. Again, keeping him at the correct distance for this to be problem-free. There is more, I'm sure, but i hope that this helps. Edit: general Claymore tip, any map. You can always drop these to protect an area, but what i usually recommend for most bo2 maps is this; find a safe area to drop them facing out of map. Once enough (10? 12?) Are on the map, any that you attempt to drop will explode immediately. This can get you out of a tight spot, instakill a group during ik, or make a crawler at higher rounds. It is a close-range explosive that won't hurt you. If you are actually placing them to protect an area, store extras in this method. Remember to drop them at the start of rounds, so you will get replenished by max ammo (good for bo1 Ascension monkeys).
  9. I rarely play the survival maps, i should have been using double xp on ghosts, but i played Town survival, died on 25, then realized it was my new high round (from 24, ha). I was trying to get better at using m+s without phd. Basically i killed myself most times. Also, I got the origins asmb on round 28, zapping zombies with the lightning staff and punching their floating half-bodies. Kind of intense.
  10. What was your strat? Yea Im in the same boat as you. I wish the score I needed to beat is 50, but its 73. I have no reason to try for that record. lol I'd be on like 100 and my kid wouold shut my shit off to watch cartoons. If I wasted 20+ hours playing a game only to have it shut off, I might beat someone, or kick the dog. lolMy way? It's s.l.o.w. Leave bank roof closed, the candy store upstairs closed, the downstairs candy door right there closed (the one near the saloon can be open). Trample steam in the window in the dead-end hall in the saloon (so no zombies cut me off if I need to circle the map). Headchopper upstairs courthouse on the railing in case the courthouse upstairs gets too crowded and zombies start to come across the upstairs balcony. I stand at the bottom of the courthouse steps. Use guns to forties, then petrifier. Tb on wall if i go down (qr revive) and then look like I'm gonna go down again (trigger tb). Shoot horde, stand in green mist to reload/group up zombies. Headshot away. Later use petrifier. If overwhelmed, i go up, fall out by box, head to saloon (zombies backing up past candy store, so), head up into saloon (hence trample steam to keep stairs clear), go out, jump to candy store, fall off, reset in courthouse. Round 63 was like 20-30 minutes. Quit on 64 because friends came by and were watching this boring stuff for about half an hour. Edit: Headchopper and trample steam last forever, so they were in the start area and church. Resonator in courthouse, turbine in saloon so they could be easily grabbed. Used with able to set them up.
  11. Thanks for the video. Much faster than my method, but I'd quit out anyway, long before then. Someone with more patience than me can get the world record.
  12. 1. Did you try the teammate finder section for teammates? Find help faster there on that part. 2. I don't have much 4 player experience on this map, mostly 1-2 player games. However, the start room with the upstairs door closed is pretty good. 2 on stage? 1 really good player by sc?
  13. Can you run trains on sensitivity 1? I use 13 in bo2. Ammo would be the issue, the dsr lasts into the 40's pap'd.

    Do keys respawn?

Thanks people. You can trample steam back up, or use a key just before the jump point in that hall to make the elevator go back to the start room. If you send the elevator back up, just make sure to pick any other part, that you might have had, back up.
  15. I read something about them respawning, but it was not on that topic, just mentioned. So, do they respawn? I usually just carry one that i never use before i quit the game anyway. They won't save you if you are trapped, the best use that i can figure is to bring pap back for convenience, or if it leaves with your gun maybe. But anyway, knowledge is power, so i may as well be sure.

    DLC?

Bo2 really needed bigger maps or at least more. Take out nubetown and failing range. The qsers weren't that rampant that i saw, but I'm not a fan of doing it nor being on the receiving end of it. But as long as it isn't rampant, I'm okay with it; we all like what we like in cod. On ghosts: 1-3 days isn't really very fair to the game. I don't think i liked any cod immediately except for mw2 after waw (waw was okay, mw2 was like Christmas). After a week of ghosts, i was wondering if i could keep playing this garbage with my .53 pathetic kdr (tdm player). A week later, it was one of my favorite cods. As long as you own it, give it some more time, it really is quite a decent cod (as oxymoron as 'decent cod' sounds). It is more about gun play and less about toys (Tacticals/Lethals). The killstreaks aren't powerful, so it just comes down to guns. The big issue is map knowledge; having barely played it, you will get owned quite a bit at first. But in the long run, they are pretty good maps. I know this well as i bought this game 12.27 and got slapped silly by those already in the know. Whenever i get a new cod (or map pack), i take the zen approach; i run solo around the maps, look at hiding spots, sight lines, interactives, et cetera, to prepare me for real games. Either way, happy gaming!
  17. For those playing this game, watch for people glitching into the ice in front of the grounded boat. I still often set up on the crane on the boat in the water, so i have a great view of this. Is it ever the enemy team doing it? Nope, always 1-3 derps on my team running into the ice, trying to glitch it. Even when they get in, you can see their head/gun sticking out. We don't need Fuel2... I like Whiteout, don't ruin it for me.

    elevator patch?

Thanks all. Appreciated. I can use the mentioned weapons well, but i also love to shoot zombies that get in front of me...which is what kills me; just my own stupids.
  19. I'm so pathetic at this: whether i do the dials first or not, i tell myself 'can't forget the orb' then i finish step 2 of whatever staff and my brain blanks immediately...until the second i teleport into tcp. Probably 4 of 5 games, and there is no excuse at this point for me. Just senility kicking in.

    elevator patch?

I kill myself with both of those constantly without phd. I've tried. Ha. I am capable in general, but i recently did my best in the tunnel, but i get slapped too much. I must be running it wrong. I used to always do the area in front of farm. I almost always die when 3 zombies spawn under me, lift me up, can't punch them enough, fast enough, can't get a shot on them fast enough before the joggers behind me catch up and beat down. Shooting them with m+s or rg would just kill me faster. Maybe not someone else, but me. I need to get Tranzit over 40, it's the only main map that i haven't quit because i got too far.
  21. Nice to hear you weigh in IL. I think people are catching on to 'turn the dials as you open the map' to have then ready for LS step 2. The first part is memory;136.357.246. The only one i still can't get without crib notes is part 1 ice staff. I can often get most of it, checking only a few, but still need help. I get weird looks when i tell people; 'the wind staff? Yeah, left side circle, from inside to outside is:1,71,F7,.7'. But hey, it works for me. P.S. And why is the last step still so forgettable? Maybe because it is the same for each? Maybe because it's uncomplicated? Hmmmm. Happy gaming!

    elevator patch?

Good theoretical point. I have since played with 2 others and the elevators seemed the same. I had one the other day where the pap dropped to power, stuck my an94 in and it left immediately. I put it in as soon as it arrived. Overall, they are continuing to go faster than they did months ago when i was last playing zombies. My main proof to myself besides the obviously (to me) faster chiming/banging of the elevator doors is that i would do certain paths around the Pink Shotgun area that coincided with the elevator times, and that the elevators are clearly moving faster during those same paths than they used to. They still vary in time, but everyone is faster than they were. For example, eating my gun and leaving immediately for the pap. Despite the gun incident, i am glad for this.
  23. First off; some great fixes mentioned above. My take; can't be hit while using jetgun. Cools down when not in use. Breaks, but just needs to be grabbed again, not rebuilt. Turbine: as is. Electric trap: no turbine needed, late game trap. Worthy to the point where one could run at the power station, grabbing new ones to run around outside. Turret: no turbine, no friendly fire. Ndu: upstairs open, wall buys for guns. The whole cornfield around the tower/ndu is denizen/fog free for training. Wall buys for guns at town. Hatch goes to bus. Different hatch for diner/gk. Maps made playable: not running in the street. Like you could run behind/around diner. I find it sad that you don't play in the maps besides town (and rarely farm). At every stop, you mostly play in the street of that part of the map. Pap stays open. Fire-lit zombies don't explode. Denizens give 10 points. More workbenches, pick where you build what. Teleporters going backwards around the map was a good idea. Just lose the random. Even if each one brought you somewhere specific, at least you could plan a trip, or know if you can save a downed teammate. That's what i have off of the top of my head.

    DLC?

I was on the opposite end: i hated prestiging. In my world bo2 (which i enjoyed) had one of the worst unlock ideas. Even bo1 might have been better (in my view). As for bo1, i played zombies and bots, I'm not masochistic enough to play bo1 online, especially 2 years out of date. What's weird is that my first impression the other day (bo1) was that it moves so smoothly. Then I get to the actual gameplay and i hate it. I had a blast revisiting Shangri-La. I also played the terribad bo1 waw zombie reprints, i forgot how awful they were. Oh anti-nostalgia. Ha.

    DLC?

The assumed community answer is that not enough have sold, too few players to break the playlists up more. One person asked them directly if it would ever be in rotation, the answer was yes. Kind of sad really. Besides the usual annoying cod stuff, the only bad thing about this game is the lack of scavenging explosives I played the crap out of bo2 from June to the end of Dec, then i bought ghosts. I haven't played bo2 since. ghosts is actually pretty good once they fixed some of their coding issues. You get 6 soldiers easily (4 more at steep cost). When they prestige, you keep all their stuff. You can buy everything for every soldier fairly easily. The worst maps are about as bad as Trollarch maps, no worse. Safeguard is worth playing, Idiocy Ward finally added bots and they play fine. Squads is interesting, but really needs to let you play versus friends. Extinction has it's followers. This is the happiest I've been with cod (bo2+ghosts) that I've been since waw+mw2. Side note: i threw in bo1 the other day. How is it even worse than i remember it? That was a shit cod...
