    Yesterday was a bad day. From January 28, 2020 on, the Activision Community Forums stopped existing. That place was the very start of the Zombies community as we know it, the start of discussing about story and strategy. The cradle of communities like ours. May it rest in peace

    Does anyone remember Nightmares? And how Deimos was the main antagonist, and we were so confused by the lack of connection to the zombies story. Could it have some connections with the Chaos storyline?

      I really wish people would ask Jason the story behind the mode and what implications it had. Just a totally strange mode that doesn't really fit. It felt like a mod rather than a fleshed out game mode.

    Just saw a mini-discussion on Reddit why Zombies should have an Auschwitz map ,and a Hiroshima map. :/

      That would be pretty tasteless I feel. I'd admire the use of such locations in a game in a more realistic fashion. As a zombies map they may be cool in design but the setting is a bit too far. It's not like we can't have a map set in some fictional death camp, or one at the site of a nuclear explosion (Oh wait, we did.)

      I have a while back and I believe you said that the "soul"-collecting we do is more so harnessing the ethereal energy after killing the zombies? I tried to articulate that more practically speaking, what is actually happening when the rat dies is its life force is draining and powering the machine as energy. Using the term souls is more of a shorthand and it's what a majority of readers would recognize as happening. Maybe I didn't explain the true nature of it well enough in the chapter and I may go back to update it.

      There is a quote in Der Riese where he mentions he was one after picking up a Carpenter power-up, also the intro to Beauty of Annihilation mentions "Poison fills the cup of the carpenter", which fits his story.
