  1. This is a super great theory! I like it a lot! So something that made me wonder when reading this was why they would burn all the files before the rockets hit from the Moon. As you noted in the quote, it seems as though they are responsible for the outbreak. What if Broken Arrow was responsible? What if Maxis worked with Broken Arrow? What if Maxis never died on Moon, but was saved my someone, possibly Groph or Shusta, and brought back and healed? Now, with that stated, let's look at the bunker in Nuketown. Many people believe that there is more than one Pyramid Device located somewhere. What if the aliens you mentioned that were there in ancient times left the second pyramid device buried under the present location of Nuketown. The bunker is its location. That's why Marlton is there and why there's an outbreak there before the rockets hit. Broken Arrow, or the US Government, wanting to hide the Pyramid Device, nuked the area. No one is going to go there if it's nuked. So Maxis, communicating through electronics, is trying to gain power within his own Pyramid Device. That's why he's not dead. He's in a Pyramid Device as well. The towers are attempting shift where the control is located, from the Moon to the Earth, which is Maxis' Pyramid Device. Broken Arrow did not want people to know they were responsible for the nukes hitting earth. When we use the Gersche Device on Moon, we are sending the needed materials to Maxis on Earth. He now has the "egg" and can use it to try to put power into this Pyramid Device. And to hold off Richtofen's Master Plan, they nuke the earth. Lots of potential for good story here. Great theory man! Brains!
  2. They're both different. Same model, completely different enemy. I guess there's the possibility that they evolved, as we see a medium of both in Moon, but still. Also MMX, there are not always absolute truths in this game. Half of this game it seems was made by the community. Why do you think we went to Moon? The community told them to during Der Riese. Why do we have Samantha? The community. A name isn't bad just because the community came up with it. To ignore community names and instead go for massive generalizations is weak at best. Any game I play I hear the gas zombies called "Crawlers" or "Nova 6 Crawlers." I RARELY hear someone refer to them as "gas zombies". And everyone calls the boss on Moon the Cosmonaut. Even randoms. If there is an alternative that is legitimately backed with evidence, I say let's use it. But right now, go with the common name used by the community if it is not backed up by in game evidence. Let's not be so stickler that we forget the point of this is to have another fun thing on the forum. If we have something wrong, then Treyarch can correct us. But until then, community names should be used.
  3. Meh. I don't care. It's not that big of a deal. Just a game. Also, who the heck is Sarah Farraday?
  4. So a few ideas I had. Take them with a grain of salt. 1. I like to judge hierarchy by "awesomeness" of the title/boss. So for me, Napalm Zombie would be moved up. Dude was just a monster coming at you. When he got his premiere in the Shangri-la trailer, he was pimp walking like "What up son you want some of this?" He's at least 8 for me. 2. I thought "Gas Zombies" were "GK Nova 6 Crawlers", or "Nova 6 Crawlers." Beware of the 6. I mean I thought that was a widely decided name. Correct me if I'm wrong. 3. I think that it wouldn't be bad to have one as "Controller" with Richtofen on one side, Maxis on one side, and a black outline of a man in the middle depicting the unknown entity who also seems to have control at times. Screw Samantha 5. Will userbars only be for enemies? What about userbars for Teddy or a Monkey Bomb (yes I know who would grab that first)?
  5. I'm pretty sure many of these camos were supposed to be earned through leveling up your Elite clan. When they forgot to put the button in game to activate them when you hit the appropriate clan level, they disappeared off of Elite. Wouldn't be shocked to see the camos that were not voted on by the community also find their way into the store. Maps though...I just don't see it. I'd much prefer Treyarch work on their next title and make it good than continue to work on Black Ops 2. Not to mention, it's counterproductive to Activision's goal to make more maps. Camos are one thing. They know players still play the game and a new camo won't draw players back to it that much, but will give those who never left something to spend money on. Maps would draw people back, which is something they don't want to do with their current CoD title still in DLC season.
  6. I just think that Black Ops had more logical progression of what was going on and had story progression you could see. The maps were also much more replayable for me.
  7. Here's the thing. I know we're all big zombies fans. And I know the popularity of the zombies mode. But they will not make a Zombies only game or a Zombies only DLC. Period. The reason is obvious. Money. They spend their money on all of this content and they want you to buy it. They aren't going to give you a cheaper alternative to only give you what you want and they aren't going to work harder to get more content out for only one group. Just not going to happen sadly. I do believe that Treyarch has more time to make a good game. Hopefully that is seen in what comes out of this three year cycle. If their game looks just like any other Call of Duty game, it'll be hard to convince me to get it. They have a longer time to add in more content and create more innovative ideas. I want to see some innovation. Now, I will say that Zombies needs to be thoroughly evaluated. I really don't know many people who enjoyed Black Ops 2 zombies. It was a disappointment overall, especially after the success of Black Ops Zombies. So it will be really interesting to see what they do. I stick to the idea that Moon was their beatiful letdown. I say that because it was a beautiful map that was a lot of fun and left fans on edge of "what's going to happen now?", but it also left us in a conundrum of what you could do with the next game and led to the locations of subpar things like TranZit and Die Rise, etc. I'm really hoping for great things. I would love to see a Maxis Edition and a Richtofen Edition of the game which you could preorder based on which side you chose in BOII. That game would come with a certain map based on your choosing. The other edition's map would come first day DLC that you could download for free.
  8. I'm sure this will be controversial and all, but if there are two Samanthas (demon Samantha from Origins and daughter Samantha that is named after this demon), then these Richtofen quotes could be a result of the demon being inside of him. He doesn't act like this before he touches the MPD. Obviously just throwing it out there. Not even sure how much I agree with it.
  9. Hmm. I've always believed moving did make you die out faster. Makes sense, as someone stated earlier, about using the last bit of energy. Also, especially on Kino where I first heard about this, it sure did seem like you died faster when you moved. As MMX pointed out (and I gave ya brains for it), the splash damage is increased when it is upgraded. Still not worth an upgrade until you're empty IMO. Now to the question of increased drops when dolphin diving onto another player. Obviously, this could never be proved true or false really. I've always noticed more drops at the beginning of games when I've done it. It would make sense that the game notices you've already gone down and gives more drops to help bad players. But no idea if it is true or not. Funny to do when people are trolling though. Another funny thing is that if they don't crawl away from each other, you can revive them and they'll immediately die again because they're on top of each other. My urban myths....hmmm. I'll just say Ascension and leave it at that.
  10. Those are some of the quotes I'd love clarification on from the Devs. It's always been something that's bugged me and one of the reasons I continued to try to find more things with the Easter Egg. But at the end of the day, I think there was a much more elaborate plan for TranZit's EE at one point, but it was cancelled and the shorter version was placed into game. They just kept the audio files in there.
  11. I said that Maxis was evil, or had evil intentions of some sort, but I feel the devs already had that laid out. That's all I can think of.
  12. As the developers are working now to make sure we're all happy with the next round of zombies, what would you like to see from it? For me, I really want private matches to record rounds on the leaderboards if there is nothing changed from a normal game of zombies. That would make me much more happy to play zombies with friends to go high rounds.
  13. This is a good thought. I'd say that Jimmy Z kind of pointed us in the direction that it's not all just a game made up with his tweet where he said something along the lines of "Remember that time when every you knew was true...was?" So I think there's something we are missing. Now consider this. And this can work some ways into your theory. What if all of things we've played through have happened. These O4 are heroes of the world for defeating this zombie threat. I don't know about you, but when someone saves the world, it's kind of a big deal. They get movie deals, books, comics, action figures. Perhaps this is how they have those action figures. They are playing with replicas of heroes from the real world.
  14. Thanks and great responses to both of you. After listening to the song again, I am really starting to lean toward "letting go" being another phrase for dying. One lets go, then begins again. Another tip of the hat toward reincarnation. Something I wanted to reference earlier, but forgot to is something I noticed. Many of you have noticed that I seem to reference animes sometimes when talking about the zombie storyline. Normally this is FullMetal Alchemist, but this time, I was to look at Soul Eater. In Soul Eater, Soul has black blood within his body. As he gives in and let's this demonic force grant him stronger power and the ability to strengthen allies in fights, the demon grows stronger. Eventually, the demon is large enough and overtakes Soul, along with his body. I feel this is what is happening within the MPD. As the user uses the power of the MPD, this demon is slowly taking control until they are fully in charge.
  15. Lately, I've been really looking at Archangel for any storyline significance I could gather from it. As many of you know, I love to look at the songs and see what Kevin Sherwood has attempted to communicate about the story through the lyrics. Archangel has been a funny one for me though because I've always despised the song. When I saw that we'd have all three vocalists on board, I thought it would be epic and I just felt it feel flat and missed out on a great chance to do something. So I avoided the song for a long time until I recently decided to listen to it some and try to see if anything stood out to me. Well in the past couple of days, my ears were brought to attention by something I heard within the song and I may have figured something out. So hear me out as I try to explain. In disguise in the skies burns a fire in my eyes and I'm holding the world in my hand So contorted and twisted condemned and submissive When they kneel they'll know where I stand yeah So to begin with, the lyrics speak of someone holding the world in their hand. What's interesting is that most would assume this to be Samantha, but it can't be. She is in no position of power in Origins(in reference to her not being born yet or being in Richtofen's body, depending on the position you take). Also, I do not think Archangel is a song that is directly related to Origins, but is more of trying to relate what is going on in the story that we have known, outside of Origins. And it makes a lot more sense when you view it in this stance. So with that in mind, who is in disguise in the sky? There is something that is in disguise in the sky, and I would assume that that is whoever is behind the power in the MPD. I'm not talking about Samantha or Richtofen, but, as Samantha screamed in Moon's easter egg, "The blackness will swallow your pride! Something far more terrible than you lies here!" Perhaps what is in disguise is the something that is far more terrible than Richtofen. Next is "burns a fire in my eyes". Now this quote shows anger and hatred. Whatever this, for lack of a better term at the moment, demon is, it certainly has a lot of anger and malice for someone or someones. The second part seems to point toward this demon being condemned to being submissive to whoever is in control of the MPD. They must do what the controller desires, at least for now. The end of that seems to point toward "they" , perhaps the O4, kneeling before this demon. And the next part seems to point to that as well. Rise again On my own Now we are Coming home It all ends Painfully and slow I'll bring them down on my own So in the first section here, we see that this demon plans to rise again on its own. Now something I do want to note here is the "rise again" portion. This indicates that it has risen before. Then it talks about how "now we are coming home." The strange thing in this section is the we. Who is the we? It kind of reminds me of the Bible when Jesus was charging a demon to give Him his name and he says "I am Legion, for we are many." But I still don't know how much that fits in here. I'd love some feedback on readers' thoughts. Then the second portion seems to point to this demon wanting to end whatever its goal is painfully and slow. The malice and anger point toward a point of origin involved. I'd also note that this points back to 115, where "I'll bring you down on my own!" is screamed. The song 115 also supports the theory presented here. You can read the lyrics to that song here. http://www.elyrics.net/read/e/elena-siegman-lyrics/115-lyrics.html It also points toward Pareidolia, where Elena sings that "it all ends so painfully and slow." This is not an idea that has only been around since Origins. The story being told in Archangel has been intentionally placed in these songs since at least Black Ops, with some World at War songs shaping possibilities for what could be happening. They lyrics to Pareidolia are below. http://www.elyrics.net/read/e/elena-siegman-lyrics/pareidolia-lyrics.html First to go first to go Last to know last to know Always the only one I control Lashing out lashing out Giving in giving in then letting go to begin again I won't try to understand the first section. Once again, I ask readers to contribute if you have an idea. After the first part, it states "always the only one I control." This seems to point toward the only thing this demon being able to control is themselves. They can't control the person who is in charge of the MPD. This demon will lash out toward whoever is in control, but at the end of the day, will give in to the requests. They let go of their power to begin again. Now this part is interesting. What is letting go? Letting go of what? I say power earlier, but is that really what it's talking about? And how does letting go contribute to allowing this demon to begin again? Once again I ask readers contribution here. Letting go Letting go now Letting go My mind's corrupt Our souls corrode It's how we'll all end up Now with this portion, we may have more of a pointing toward what letting go is. It seems that this demon lets go because their mind is corrupt. Then their souls corrode. Could this mean that users within the MPD have their souls corrode over time. Perhaps this demon continues to wait for one that won't corrode and allow it to escape the prison that is the MPD. Burning down Caving in Die by fire and begin again What breaks my pride will break your skull I bring the end just like an archangel This portion seems to point toward destruction being what happens when this entity is involved. Dying by fire to begin again seems to be like the mythical phoenix, who dies by fire, only to be reborn anew. Now this "demon" has a lot of pride obviously. Wouldn't any demon? And when someone has control over it, that is a big hit to their pride, but this hit to the demon's pride will break the controller's skull. In other words, the temporary hit to the demon's pride will end up killing the one who is hitting the pride. Then the demon brings the end like an archangel. An archangel can wreak havoc and destroy everything in its path. The demon seems to be the same way. All the ruptured existence disdain life persistence The wheel won't be turning for long No And I need Carrion Now I am Coming home Running from I'm becoming one I'll bring you down on my own This demon has been around for a long time as we'll see a few paragraphs down. This must have been a very long wait for it to just sit there within the MPD for someone to give it hope. This would create a ruptured existence where you aren't really there, but still can't escape this persistence of life, which leads to disdain of this life. But as the demon is revived and given hope, it realizes that this constant wheel that continues to turn won't be turning for long. The constant cycle it has been in will soon be broken. Now all it needs is a body...a carrion. If you look at the lyrics to Carrion, you'll see this theory supported as well. You can see a thread I made about Carrion involving Richtofen possibly being good below in my threads of note in the signature. For lyrics to Carrion, you can look here. http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Carrion Honestly this entire part of the song seems to do two things: 1. Show that all of the songs connect together in one story. They do not contradict each other, but all are an important part talking about the same thing. 2. Give a shout out to Kevin's former songs in the current song. Letting go Now pain erupts And time is slowed It's how we'll all end up It seems that as the demon lets go of whatever it's letting go of, possibly the host or its power, pain erupts, time slows, and that's how everyone ends up. This is how death seems to be. You feel pain, but time slows as you visualize your life and all you've done, then things fade away. No one escapes death. Why do we end up here Live in fire and feel so cold O O We burn together forever waiting for the one I don't understand the "why do we end up here" part, but the next part seems to point toward wherever the demon is is in fire, but they feel so cold. It kind of makes me thing of Hell, which is filled with fire. The reference to feeling so cold seems to point to being alive, but feeling cold like you are dead. Once again, I have no idea who the "we" is referring to. Is the demon referring to the one in the MPD, or is there more than one demon present? Waiting for the one is an obvious reference to the song "The One" from Shi No Numa. I understand that Kevin Sherwood has stated that the song was written from a zombie's perspective, but I would like to suggest that this could have easily been made to fit into the story of this demon. The lyrics still fit perfectly if you read them with the proposed theory. http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/elenasiegman/theone.html *deep breath* Don't worry. We're almost to the end. Letting go Our time is up Dust from our bones This time we don't wake up This seems to point to the demon letting go of its life. Their time is up. They won't awake this time because they fully die. Now does this demon really want to die? This may point toward there being more than one demon within the entity. One is wanting vengeance, while the other just wants to die. Now we get to what REALLY caught my interest in this song. Finding out Where you've been Wait in silence and begin again I'll take my time to make you fall Pass through your head at just the right angle Falling down Giving in Burn the liars and begin again What fills your pride will make you fall I am the end a fucking archangel So this is a very interesting part of the song. This demon is trying to find out where they've been. Who is they? Whoever they are, this demon has been waiting in silence patiently until they return. I propose that this is a reference to the O4. Let's take a look at this picture. As we can see, this points to an ancient group of the O4 that have been on this planet before. They seem to have conquered something and the people are praising them. What have they conquered? I propose that they have conquered a demon and sealed it away where no other can release it ever again. The people are so excited and are praising these Knights because of this accomplishment. But why does this look Middle Eastern and not French, which is where Origins is located? Perhaps because they sealed this demon within a great rock. A great stone that was extremely powerful. A black stone. Now I want you to go into my signature and see my thread on Mecca. The black stone is a holy object in Mecca that is of the utmost importance to Muslims. I think that the developers put this scene in a Middle Eastern setting because this demon was sealed within this black stone. And coincidentally enough, we have a black stone in Moon. We have an "egg" that is a black stone, but also the MPD, which is also black. Perhaps the stone on earth links in some way to the MPD or maybe the black stone found its way to the Moon through the tornadoes or wormhole depicted in Shangri-la's loading screen. So these four knights seal away this demon. The demon is angry and has much hatred for this capture, so it waits for a long time until reincarnation brings forth these four heroes again all in one place in France. That's when this demon takes on the persona of a little girl named Samantha in hopes that she can convince these four, that do not remember what happened so many years ago, to release her. This demon has been waiting for a long time. It's fine with taking its time to make sure that the O4 pay for the torment the demon has had to endure being captured all these years by the O4 in their past life. Next, the song seems to point toward the O4 lying to this demonic spirit to trick it into being captured. This demon wants to burn these liars. Could it have been friends with the O4 at one point? And lastly, the O4's pride will be their downfall, at least according to the demon. So if this is the case, then this causes massive implications to our storyline. We have a demon that is out to kill the O4 for a past action in their former lives. And not only that, we must see that the little girl Samantha is different that the demonic spirit that calls itself "Samantha." *breathes out* Phew. That was A LOT! And I'm sure a lot of it is hard to digest all at once. I hope to get your feedback and opinions on the parts I was confused about. I'd also like to hear what you think about this proposal. If you made it this far and read the whole thing, I give you a virtual cookie. -hands cookie to reader- If you said TL;DR, well I eat your cookie in front of you. -goes all Cookie Monster- Thanks and I hope you enjoyed it!
  16. I DEMAND ZOMBIES WITH SANTA HATS!
  17. The O4 are in an interesting position for sure. I'm not sure what to make of them. Nothing really tells us that they died, and every movie buff knows that if they don't show the death, then they aren't dead. Also, I don't think Richtofen is just going to let his body go to waste. Remember that he is in charge of the zombies now. Why would we sick them on his own body? I don't know. I guess we'll have to find out what's going on with them next game. For now, I have no idea.
  18. So the past few days I've been pondering this thought and after discussions with Mac and others, I decided to post this on the forums in hopes that I could get some feedback and others' opinions on the matter. All comments are welcome and appreciated. So Mac and I were discussing Origins the other day and the topic of Samantha came upon us once again. She seemed so innocent, yet evil as well. And then things began to tick in my mind. So let me just start from where I did. I believe that within the Call of Duty Zombie universe, we have two characters named Samantha. Now before you burn me at the stake, hear me out. What evidence do I have for this. First, we know for a fact that the Samantha on Moon is German. We hear her voice and it is specifically a German voice that has a father named Ludwig Maxis. She calls him "Papa" and he talks about how things changed once her mother died. This was not some robot/human baby. This was a real baby with two real people that was had between Maxis and his wife. She has a German accent and was raised in Germany while her father worked with Group 935. But the Samantha we see in Origins is different. She seems to be American. She has an English accent and seems to know a lot more about what is going on than the Samantha from Moon did. Let me stop here and say that while this does support my hypothesis, it is far from good evidence. The voice actor being unavailable is a simple explanation. So let's go deeper. Let's begin the better evidence by starting with where Samantha is. Samantha is located within the MPD, or at least her body is. When she switches bodies with Richtofen on Moon, Maxis recognizes that Richtofen has taken the position that Samantha held. But where was her soul? What did she occupy? For a long time, we debated whether this was Agartha or the Aether. This was confirmed by Richtofen on TranZit when someone gets a power up at the beginning of a match and he screams out "BRAAASDFAERASDLJFASDOIFUA.....*cough* *cough* *cough* Oh excuse me! Just getting used to the Aether!..." So we see from this quote that Richtofen is occupying a position in the Aether. And since he is in the same position that Samantha was in, we know that she was in the Aether as well. So she is not in Agartha. Now let's fast forward to Buried. If you choose to follow Maxis, you open what I have termed "Pandora's Box" for lack of a better term given in game, and press the button. Maxis has a pursuit at this moment to go to Agartha to rescue Samantha. Now hold up. Samantha isn't in Agartha. And there's no reason that he should believe her to be there. First off, Samantha was in a position of power in the Aether, not Agartha. Not only that, but he knows that she's in Richtofen's body on Moon, not in Agartha. He helped you on Moon after the switcharoo occurred. So why does he want to go to Agartha to pursue Samantha when she is not there? Now let's address another piece of evidence. The evidence of a daughter for Maxis. In Origins, Maxis does not believe he has a child and Richtofen seems to agree that he has no daughter, but she calls him that. Now fast forward to Moon. We can hear in the radios that not only is Samantha his daughter, but he even addresses her mother in one of the radios. So in one he has no daughter, but in another he does. This makes no sense. So what can we do with these things? We can chalk them up to developer ignorance, but that seems unfair to the developers. Let's play with what we have for now. Here's my hypothesis. During Origins, Dr. Maxis was encountered by this voice that claims to be his daughter. Maxis knows this is not his daughter, but as the madness claims him, he begins to truly believe this is his daughter. Fast forward many years later. Maxis and his wife have a daughter. Still entranced by this little girl that had called to him so long ago, he decided to name his newborn daughter Samantha. Fast forward again. Samantha, Maxis' daughter, gets trapped within the MPD. As our O4 begin to complete the process that Richtofen has called them to, we hear her scream that something far more evil than her lies within. We then have Maxis, through electronics, direct us to bomb the earth. A little bit further ahead, the T4 choose Maxis' side and Maxis takes over control in Richtofen's position within the Aether. Maxis states that he is going to Agartha to rescue Samantha. Now we know that Maxis knows that Samantha, his daughter, is in Richtofen's body on Moon. So he can't be talking about her. She's not in Agartha. She's on the Moon. He should be able to just switch her soul back into her body and everything be good. But he doesn't. He wants to go to Agartha. Because the Samantha he remembered from Origins is still trapped there as far as he knows. So he's going to Agartha to search for her. So what is the Samantha from Origins then? I think we have two hints. The first came on Moon from the Samantha we've known when she states that something far more evil lies here. I know that quote is skewed and quote experts can correct me if you so desire, but that is the gist of what she says. The second hint is seen in Origins when it says that an ancient evil was awakened. We've always thought that it was the zombies, but what if it was this Samantha. What if the zombies were the "guardians" trying to stop people from releasing this Samantha into our world? Well it's late and that's all I have for now. Please let me know what you think. I'd really appreciate some evidence that strongly contradicts this because I'm kind of half and half within me. Part of me wants to say yes, because this would explain a lot of things, but I also don't want to just be throwing this out there while there's evidence that goes against it. So let me know what you think. Thanks for reading! FatedTitan
  19. If you want to compare base maps, compare Point of Contact with Nacht. PoC>Nacht. But see where zombies went. Extinction has a lot of potential. Stop trying to compare the two because they're different modes completely. The only real similarity is that they both are on Call of Duty games.
  20. I normally preorder in May or June, but I went and preordered today. I wasn't excited about Ghosts, but Extinction got me.
  21. It might be jumping the gun, and if it is, then ok. But for now, we would rather be the head of the train than the caboose.
  22. callofdutyextinction.com Flammen and I decided this would be a good idea for a site so we have a forum up and running for Extinction if anyone would love to come participate on it.
